A Snowy Weekend Ahead WV 2-28-13

Snow showers began last night and have continued into today.  At times this afternoon the snow has been coming down pretty hard.  Tomorrow looks like a pow day at the ski areas.

Northwest flow continues through Sunday which will keep snow showers in play during that time period.  The heaviest snow will be today and tomorrow, with much lighter amounts this weekend.  By Sunday, snow amounts will be in the 4-10″ range with the usual favored locations being on the higher end of that scale, possibly even over it.

A reinforcing shot of cold air will arrive this weekend as well thanks to a huge trough that will engulf the eastern portion of the country, so make sure to bundle up!

We’ll see a break in the action Monday as sunshine returns.  This will be a brief break though as out next system will bring snow back into play beginning late Tuesday.
