A Bit
About Us...
HighCountryWeather.com was the first dedicated weather
website for the High Country area. We debuted our first
weather website on our original AppNet domain name back
in 1998, and then purchased the dedicated domain name of
HighCountryWeather.com on February 23rd, 2000 and moved
our small weather website to it's permanent location.
HighCountryWeather.com is not as well known around the
High Country as it is around the Southeast, due to our
sister websites of
www.SkiNorthCarolina.com,
www.SkiSoutheast.com,
www.HighCountryOutdoors.com,
www.HighCountryInfo.com,
www.GolfNorthCarolina.com and many others. All
of our network of pro-High Country area websites (more
than 100 than we own and operate) are all linked to and
driving traffic to
www.HighCountryWeather.com and hence
HighCountryWeather.com is the most visited weather
website in the region.
Up until now we have really not had the time or
inclination to dedicate much more data than the standard
temperature, wind speed, etc and really have not
attempted to much more with the website.
However that is now changing for a number of reasons.
First, as of 1/13/2006 we are now averaging more than
7158 unique sessions per day! We are experiencing 17,762
page views, and more than 39,070 hits per day. That
means that more than 220,000 people are visiting
HighCountryWeather.com monthly!
Second, we now have some more exciting partners coming
on board to assist us in providing you with more
information at your fingertips than ever before, in the
best, most attractive and easiest format possible.
HighCountryWeather.com gains our forecasts from many
sources, including The Weather Channel, The National
Weather Service (NOAA), WJHL NewsCenter out of Johnson
City, Tennessee, WCNC NBC 6 in Charlotte, NC and with
input from staff meteorologist Brad Panovich...as well
as Austin Beeghly who is coming on board to bring you as
much insight as possible to the subject of High Country
Weather.
With the addition of new stations that will be debuting
at Ski Beech (Beech Mountain North Carolina), Sugar
Mountain and Hawksnest (Seven Devils) within the
week...we are excited to see immediate growth.
Additionally we have partnerships with more than 15 ski
areas that will have live data coming directly from
stations at those locations coming online soon.
HighCountryWeather.com is the ONLY weather website to
enlist meteorologist to provide forecasts that you can
depend on...and our goal is to be not only the most
visited weather website in the region...but the best,
most reliable. To that end, we welcome your visit
and hope that you will check back often as we grow our
offerings.
HighCountryWeather.com is owned by
www.AppNet.com and
is just another pro High Country website designed to
provide our locals and visitors to this region with the
best information possible.
Thanks again for visiting.
