Another Heavy Snow Event WV 3-5-13

Another significant snow event is in store for the region.  A low pressure system is making it’s way into the region as I type this.  Expect a mix of rain/snow/sleet this afternoon initially.  A changeover to all snow will happen this evening once colder air filters in.  Snow showers will then continue through the day tomorrow and into Wednesday night.

Accumulations by Thursday morning are going to be rather impressive.  The southern part of the state looks to miss out on the heavy snow but areas from Snowshoe north are looking at 12-18″ when all is said and done.  Thursday is looking like a great powder day and intemittent sunshine could return by the afternoon after flurries linger during the morning hours.

Friday through Sunday will feature some calm weather finally.  Sunshine and moderating temperatures will make for a spectacular weekend on the slopes.  Above average temperatures are in store for Saturday and Sunday, which will make for spring skiing like conditions.
