Boone Weather Forecast 7-18-12

Warm, muggy conditions will persist today and tomorrow as a Bermuda high remains in place.  However, a weak upper level low will linger just to our south during this time period and this feature is going to create the chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon hours of both days.  Hot days with afternoon scattered showers and thunderstorms…pretty typical for this time of year.

A cold front will move south from the Ohio River Valley and is expected to cross the region during the overnight hours on Friday.  Expect increasing cloud cover and showers throughout the day on Friday and unfortunately, the front is expected to linger in the region through the weekend.  Temperatures will be cooler Saturday and Sunday, but there will also be a lot of clouds and a decent chance of showers each day.

The Bermuda high will begin to take control once again on Monday and we should then see a return to sunshine.
