Finally a HEAVY Snow Event VA 3-5-13

The Virginia ski areas are FINALLY going to see a heavy snow event over the next 36 hours.  A low pressure system is approaching the region right now.  Expect mostly rain showers this afternoon but a little bit of snow/sleet could be mixed in at times.

Tonight the heavy snow arrives and snow showers will continue through tomorrow night.  By Thursday morning, the ski areas are looking at 10-18″ of snow from this storm.  Thursday is going to be a POWDER, BLUEBIRD day on the slopes as the skies are expected to rapidly clear.  These are going to be some of, if not the, best conditions Massanutten, Wintergreen, and Bryce Resort see all season.

High pressure moves in for the weekend and an abundance of sunshine and moderating temperatures will prevail.  Spring skiing conditions will be in effect this weekend as above average temps will make for a great few days of riding, especially with all of the new snow.
