Mountain Weather Boone Banner Elk 7-16-12

A typical Bermuda high is in place and will remain through Thursday.  Southerly wind flow is going to create some hot, humid conditions and scatttered afternoon showers and thunderstorms are a good bet.  Some of these could be severe.

A cold front will begin to approach from the north on Thursday.  This will be another slow moving frontal boundary and it will linger in the region through Sunday.  Temperatures will be a little cooler (still warm) but there is also a good chance that most of you will see precipitation each day.
