Snow and Wind Today NC 3-6-13

I LOVE waking up to the sight of snow!  And there is plenty of it this morning as most of the area has seen at least an inch or two.  The ski areas are all reporting in the range of 4-5″ and the snow is continuing to come down at a decent rate this morning.  That trend will continue through the morning and into the afternoon before things begin to wind down this evening.  Light snow showers will continue overnight and into tomorrow morning before tapering off completely.

Accumulations by tomorrow morning look to be consistent with what I mentioned yesterday.  Most everyone will see 2-4″ while the higher elevations could see up to 8″.  Today and tomorrow look to be pow days at the ski areas!

As I said, flurries taper off tomorrow morning and we’ll even see some sunshine by the afternoon.  Winds will continue to be gusty though which will keep things on the blustery side.

Friday through Sunday looks fantastic!  Sunshine and moderating temperatures each day will make for some superb skiing and snowboarding conditions.  Temperatures will be above normal on Saturday and Sunday.  Hoody day!

More rain is in play for Monday as our next system arrives.
