The Biggest Dump of the Year VA 3-6-13

Wow is all I can say.  It’s not very often  you see snow totals like this at the Virginia ski resorts.  Massanutten and Wintergreen both are showing 12″ this morning.  Bryce is showing 8.5″ which is awesome as well.  If you can make it out there today and are willing to brave the elements, it’s going to be a sweet pow day!

Heavy snow continues today as snow on the backside of the low pressure system should dump another 5-10″ at the ski areas.  Low visibility, gusty winds, and chilly temperatures are going to make for a rather brutal day though.  Be safe if you are headed anywhere!

Snow showers taper off overnight and tomorrow looks fantastic.  High pressure begins to move back in and it’s going to be a bluebird, pow day.  It will probably be the best day of the season for the ski areas.  The return of sunshine and seasonable temps are going to make for a fantastic day on the slopes.  I’m jealous of whoever makes it out there.

Friday through Sunday sees an abundance of sunshine and moderating temperatures as high pressure slides off to the east.  It’s going to be really, really nice.

A chance of rain comes back into play for Monday.  We won’t worry about that right now though.
