High pressure moves off to the east today ahead of an advancing cold front. Today will be cloudy for the most part and we could see late afternoon showers as that front moves closer. Showers become widespread overnight and increase in intensity as the front moves through.

By tomorrow morning, the front will have moved through but there could be a leftover shower or two. Things clear up in the morning and we should see sunshine return by midday. Winds behind the front will be from a northwesterly direction so it’ll be cooler tomorrow than in recent days.

High pressure settles in for the weekend. Inversions on Friday and Saturday nights will lead to chilly starts to the day on Saturday and Sunday in the valleys. Mostly seasonable/mild-ish temperatures and an abundance of sunshine should make for a rather nice weekend. Cloud cover increases late Sunday as our next system approaches, bringing showers to the region on Monday.
