A Great Start to the Week

And I’m back!  Sorry about no morning updates since Wednesday, but I was on vacation down in Myrtle.  It was a great time but I am so sunburnt right now.  If you ever go to Myrtle Beach, I’d highly suggest looking up Oceans One Resort’s phone number.  That place is top notch.  As great as my weekend at the beach was, I realized this morning while driving up from Charlotte how much I love the mountains.  I won’t lie, it feels good to be back.

It’s going to be a perfect start to the work week today.  We’re already seeing lots of sunshine this morning and you can expect that to continue throughout the day.  Temperatures today will warm up nicely into the low to mid 70’s.  It’s going to feel more like summertime out there.

Things get interesting for Tuesday through Thursday.  A stationary front currently extends from the central portion of the country southeast down into Alabama.  It will slowly progress to the east over the next few days.  Scattered afternoon convection is expected to create afternoon/evening showers and thunderstorms each day.  A disturbance is also expected to track along the front tomorrow which would create more widespread showers and thunderstorms.  None of the days are expected to be washouts and we should see some sun everyday, but the chance for precipitation is there.  Fortunately, temperatures will remain mild all week long with highs generally in the low to mid 70’s.

The front will have passed through by Friday.  Temperatures will be warm and humid behind it.  A closed upper level low will then approach the area, creating a chance for showers and thunderstorms throughout the weekend.
