A Wet Week Ahead

A frontal system continues to be stalled to our south, as it has been for the past few days.  This week will be a continuation of the weekend in that a series of disturbances will track along this front, bringing unsettled weather to the region.

We will continue to see a rain/snow mixture this morning and into the early afternoon.  Accumulations are generally expected to be in the 1-3″ range.  Precipitation will taper off by the afternoon and highs will struggle to make it to the low 40’s.  Lows should dip below freezing tonight for a majority of the area as temperatures will be in the upper 20’s by the start of tomorrow.  High pressure will briefly settle into the region tomorrow, but the clouds will stick around for the most part.  High temperatures will rise to around 50 degrees though.

Another low pressure system will track across the front to our south, bringing more precipitation by Tuesday evening and lasting into Wednesday.  This should be a rain only event.

Yet another low will move across the Southeast by Thursday and into Friday.  This system brings the possibility of more winter weather with it.  It is too far out to be certain right now.

It’s looking like next week might bring a return to warmer weather.  We’ll have to get through this week first though.
