Another Round of a Wintry Mix WV 2-21-13

After some early morning cloudiness and scattered snow showers, the sun has already begun to peak through.  That trend will continue for the rest of the day and the afternoon should provide some fantastic skiing conditions.  Look for some high clouds to move in late this afternoon but other than that it’s going to be really nice outside.

Enjoy today if you can because the next two days look sloppy.  A low pressure system is going to bring a mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain into play beginning late tonight.  Tomorrow looks downright messy as that mix continues throughout the day.  Rain showers look to persist into the first half of Saturday.  The northern portion of the region could see some wraparound snow showers on the backside of the system Saturday night, but accumulations look to be minimal.

High pressure settles back in on Sunday and temperatures will return back to normal for this time of year.  In general, it looks like a really nice day.

Monday will see increasing clouds ahead of our next system.  The first half of the day looks pretty decent though.
