Wow has it been nice lately! I love winter and what not, but I am loving summer like weather in the mountains. I was up at Beech Mountain yesterday and it felt great. My girlfriend in Charlotte was talking about how hot it was down there and she was jealous of the upper 70’s we were experiencing here.
It looks like more of the same is in store for today. Temperatures will once again be unseasonably warm but we will start to see increased cloudiness associated with a cold front beginning this afternoon. This is the same cold front that has created severe weather in the Midwest over the past few days. The good news is that it is going to weaken drastically by the time it gets here. The bad news is that it’s going to stall out just to our west today before washing out over the region tomorrow. This means we’ll see showers and thunderstorms beginning late today and lasting through tomorrow night.
We’ll warm back up by Saturday and the holiday weekend looks to be quite nice. In particular, Monday looks to be VERY warm with highs forecasted to be in the low 80’s and plenty of sunshine to go along. Tuesday looks to be even warmer! It appears that summer has arrived.
