Another Week of Beautiful Fall Weather NC 9-30-13

Another work week featuring beautiful weather, for the most part, is in store for the High Country.  Lots of sunshine and several days of above average temps are the name of the game until unsettled weather returns for the weekend.

A weak frontal boundary to our west will dissipate today.  Mostly cloudy, cool conditions will be accompanied by the slight chance of an afternoon shower or two.

High pressure builds in tomorrow and the rest of the work week looks rather nice.  Tuesday through Friday will see lots of blue skies with temperatures running a good 5-7 degrees above normal.  Daytime heating on Thursday and Friday could lead to a stray shower or two, but those chances are small right now.

Our next weather maker is a cold front that is slated to move through this weekend.  Model discrepancy is leading to low confidence in the timing of the frontal passage, as some have it moving through Saturday evening while others have it moving through early Sunday.  Either way, it looks like we'll see a good soaking with this front as widespread showers and storms are expected.  For now, plan on increasing clouds Saturday with late afternoon and evening showers forming.  Sunday will be much cooler with continued precip.
