Clearing Skies Today, More Snow Tomorrow VA 1-24-13

The quick moving system that passed through overnight brought a little bit of snowfall to the ski areas.  It wasn’t a lot but it is welcome nonetheless!

Skies have already begun to clear and sunshine has returned to the region.  That trend will continue today but temperatures will remain on the chilly side.  Gusty winds will make for some blustery conditions as well.  Bundle up!

Another system looks to bring more snow tomorrow.  Snow showers are expected to begin in the afternoon and accumulations look to be in the 1-3″ range by Saturday morning.  That fresh snow will make for a fantastic weekend on the slopes as both Saturday and Sunday will see an abundance of sunshine.  Temperatures will remain cold-ish and snowmaking looks to continue through Sunday at the ski areas.

Mild temperatures return Monday and will persist for several days.  Unfortunately, the chance of rain comes back into the forecast as well during that time period.
