Clouds and Rain Today

Most everyone saw between a half to three quarters of an inch of rain last night.  While the cold front that brought the storms last night has already passed through the region, the main area of low pressure is still located over western Virginia.  As a result, we’ll see cloud cover and showers persist throughout the day and into the overnight hours as the low tracks to the east.  Temperatures will remain fairly cool, with highs in the mid 50’s.  Expect breezy conditions as well.

High pressure builds into the region tomorrow and will stay in place through Thursday.  We’ll see pleasant conditions both days with lots of sun and blue skies.  Temperatures won’t be as warm as we’ve seen lately, but highs will still be in the low to mid 60’s.

Another strong cold front will begin to impact our weather on Friday.  Clouds will thicken as the day goes on and thunderstorms are possible by the late afternoon, lasting through the day on Saturday as the front passes through.
