Cold Front Crosses Today NC 11-12-12

A cold front is currently located just to our west and it will cross through the region this evening.  A few scattered showers exist this morning but the heaviest of the rain arrives late in the afternoon and into the overnight hours.  Gusty winds will persist during this time period as well.

Tomorrow, any leftover cloud cover and scattered precip will clear out in the morning.  Sunshine will return by the afternoon but temperatures will remain on the cool side.  Sub-freezing temps are a good bet tomorrow night.

Wednesday, high pressure makes for a pleasant day.  There may be a few scattered clouds but nothing too bad.  Temperatures remain on the cool side once again though.  An upper level disturbance will bring about increased cloud cover and possibly some light precip Wednesday night.  Nothing significant is expected though.  Scattered cloud cover continues into Thursday as a result of this.

In general, the week looks to see cool temperatures during the day, and near to slightly below freezing temperatures at night.  Unfortunately, this isn’t ideal for the ski areas and snowmaking will be marginal at best this week.
