Cold Weather Continues WV 1-3-13

Cloudy skies this morning will give way to sunshine by the afternoon.  The Winterplace cam shows the sun trying to peak through already, so look for a pleasant second half to the day, albeit it a breezy one.

A weak disturbance passes through tonight and will bring about snow showers for the northern WV and western MD region.  Significant accumulations are not expected.

High pressure briefly settles in tomorrow and any leftover snow showers should taper off in the morning.  Sunshine should return in the afternoon but temperatures will remain chilly-ish, but  near normal for this time of year.

A series of disturbances move through Saturday night and Sunday.  As a result, scattered snow showers are expected Saturday night.  Sunday will see a mix of rain, freezing rain, and snow across the region.  Any accumulations will be light at best.

High pressure returns Monday and the first half of next week will see milder weather, but snowmaking looks to be possible during the overnight hours.
