Colder Air on the Way NC 12-10-12

A cold front currently located in Tennessee will continue east today and will pass through the region overnight.  You can expect showers to continue through the nighttime hours and precip amounts look fairly promising.  It’s been very dry as of late and this system looks to bring a decent amount of rainfall to the High Country.

A stray shower or two lingers into tomorrow morning and precip could be in the form of freezing drizzle at the higher elevations.  However, it won’t last long and we’ll dry out and possibly see some sunshine by midday.  It will be much cooler tomorrow as colder air filters in behind the front.  Cloud cover increases once again during the late afternoon as a disturbance passes to our south.  It doesn’t look like we will see any precip though.

Wednesday sees clearing skies and continued chilly temperatures.  High pressure moves in and will stick around through the end of the work week.  Thursday and Friday will see continued sunshine and temperatures warm up a bit but will be near normal for this time of year.

Clouds will be on the increase Saturday ahead of our next front which will move through Sunday.
