Colder air is filtering into the region as a cold front continues to move off to our southeast. Temperatures this morning are a good 20 degrees colder than this time yesterday. The wind is also an issue this morning. Our Hawksnest station showed a wind gust reading of 42 mph earlier. The combo of chilly temps and gusty winds is making for a blustery morning.
Both cloud cover and the winds should subside as the day wears on. Even with afternoon sunshine though, high temperatures will remain chilly today.
High pressure builds in for tomorrow and we’ll see a moderation of temperatures. A southerly wind flow will lead to a decent amount of cloud cover, but there will be intervals of sunshine. A disturbance moving across the Great Lakes region will push a frontal boundary through the region overnight on Thursday. While the chance for flurries does exist, nothing of significance is expected.
The front will stall to our south Friday, before moving back north overnight as a warm front. As a result, Friday looks see a good bit of cloud cover. Showers will begin Friday night, lasting through Saturday. In general, Saturday looks to be rather dreary.
Sunday sees clearing skies but temperatures will remain very mild.
