What a beautiful afternoon it is! Cloud cover this morning has given way to a ton of sunshine and highs this afternoon are hitting 50 degrees at a lot of locations. Enjoy it while you can.

Things get interesting tomorrow. Clouds build into the region in the afternoon as a surface low moves from the Gulf of Mexico up into the upstate of South Carolina. Upper level support is also in place. Expect rain showers to begin Saturday afternoon/evening, lasting overnight. The rain could be heavy at times. Snow flurries/sleet is not out of the question for the higher elevations.

As the low moves off the Carolina coast on Sunday morning, precip continues and is expected to change over to snow for the higher elevations by midday as colder air filters into the region behind the system. Lower elevations can expect to see this change occur sometime in the afternoon.

This is going to be a very quick shot of snow as flurries will taper off a little after midnight. Accumulations at this time are not expected to be more than a few inches at the higher elevations, with lower lying areas seeing only a dusting to an inch or two.

High pressure builds in once again on Monday and it looks to be a pretty fantastic day to hit the slopes!
