New Month, Same Story

It’s hard to believe it, but today is already the first day of August.  Summer is chugging right along.  While it may be a new month, the heat remains as we will continue to see above normal temperatures for at least the next week.

Many locations are shrouded in a layer of fog this morning.  Expect it to dissipate quickly as we warm up this morning.  A cold front moved through yesterday and is now to our south.  High pressure has moved into the region and will reside with us for the next few days.  While high temperatures will remain above normal, a shift in the winds to a northerly direction will bring in drier air, making things somewhat tolerable.

Another front approaches the region on Thursday.  It will stall out and linger in our vicinity through Friday, creating a chance of scattered precipitation.  Unforunately, with this front also comes a return to muggy conditions.  Humidity levels will be high for the weekend once again, with daily afternoon scattered showers and thunderstorms returning to the forecast.
