The end of the work week is going to be a nice one. Sunshine and near normal temperatures for this time of year will have you jonesing for the weekend. Unfortunately, after today we have a weekend of rain ahead of us.
High pressure over the Northeast will create a wedge of cool air on the eastern side of the Appalachians. Temps this weekend will be a good 10-12 degrees below normal. At the same time, an area of low pressure will track along a stationary frontal boundary located just off to our west. What does all of this mean? The weekend will be cool and damp, with showers throughout the entire period. Bummer!
A moist airmass combined with an upper level shortwave (weather nerd lingo) will keep showers going into the beginning of next week as well. Monday and Tuesday both have a chance of precip in the forecast at this time.
