Rain This Weekend WV 12-14-12

High pressure remains in control today which will result in bluebird skies and above average temperatures.  It’s going to be really nice.

A warm front will move through the region Saturday night.  Increasing clouds Saturday will lead to showers overnight and into Sunday.

The backend of the system will push a cold front through the region Sunday night/Monday morning.  Showers and thunderstorms are expected Sunday afternoon and Sunday night. That’s not what skiers and snowboarders want to hear!  Monday will see things briefly dry out but clouds will stick around.

An area of low pressure track along the cold front will be off the Northeast US coast Monday night and Tuesday.  We’ll see more showers but colder air arrives Tuesday, so we should see a changeover to snow for higher elevations in the northern portion of the state.  Rain and snow showers continue into Wednesday.
