Some Unsettled Weather Before A Beautiful Weekend NC 6-12-13

Another toasty day is in store for us.  It is June after all!  There's a lot of clouds out there this morning but those should thin out some by the afternoon.  I'll mention the chance of some scattered showers and storms today, but the thinking is we should stay dry from here on out.

Tomorrow is a different story though.  A cold front will move through the region during the day.  Showers and thunderstorms are expected mainly in the afternoon hours.  The swath of precipitation with the frontal passage doesn't look to be huge, however some of the individual cells will be intense.  It looks like the most severe storms will develop off to our east.

Friday sees the beginning of 3 days of beautiful weather, just in time for the weekend!  High pressure builds into the region and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will see plenty of sunshine and cooler temps than in recent days.  Awesome!

That area of high pressure slides off into the eastern Atlantic by Monday.  This will bring about a southerly wind flow and the return of moister air ahead of our next cold front.  That means the chance of scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms returns to the forecast.
