Summer-Esque Weather! NC 5-15-13

Today is going to be the nicest day of the year thus far, with plenty of sunshine and temperatures that will be pushing 80 degrees!  What a difference a few days can make.  Enjoy today while you can because tomorrow through the early part of next week will see the chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms each day.

A frontal boundary will be stalled to our north tomorrow and Friday.  A moist airmass combined with an upper level disturbance will bring about the chance for scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorm, more so on Friday than Thursday though.  Temperatures both days will be slightly above normal.

That frontal boundary dips to the south and will move closer to us over the weekend.  Precip chances increase Saturday afternoon and the latter half of the weekend is looking like it'll be more wet than not.

Unsettled weather continues into Monday as the front finally begins to lift off to the north.  A cold front will approach on Tuesday and move through the region very early on Wednesday.  Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue on Tuesday as a result.

There's a lot of mention about scattered shower and thunderstorms in the forecast, but it is May after all!  I'm just glad it appears as if we are done with cold weather until the fall.
