The Active Pattern Continues VA 2-18-13

The active pattern continues this week as multiple systems will create more wintry weather for the region. I personally am loving it!

Today has started out in a rather gorgeous manner and those pleasant conditions will persist for the entirety of the day. Much warmer temperatures than this weekend and bluebird skies will make for a perfect day on the slopes.

Our next system quickly approaches the region overnight. The associated cold front will move through tomorrow morning and a wintry mix will greet you when you wake up. A changeover the all rain is expected by midday though as daytime warming occurs. It’s a quick moving system and the majority of everyone will see precip end by 4-ish.  Chilly air filters in behind the front and Tuesday night looks cold.  Snowmaking at the ski areas should resume.

Canadian high pressure returns for Wednesday. Chilly temperatures and breezy winds will make for some blustery conditions, even with an abundance of sunshine. Thursday will see continued sunshine and temperatures will moderate significantly from the day before.

Our next system arrives Friday and looks to bring yet another wintry mix event into play beginning Thursday night. Precip could last into Saturday before we dry out for the final day of the weekend.
