The Last Day of Summer! 9-21-2012

Today is the last day of summer and it’s going to be a nice way to end the season.  High pressure at the surface will lead to sunny skies and fairly warm temperatures.  A lot of locations will hit the 70 degree mark today.

Clouds increase overnight and tomorrow morning as a cold front approaches the region.  There’s not a lot of moisture associated with the front so only a few scattered afternoon showers are expected.  Temperatures will be warm again during the day but once the front moves through during the late afternoon/early evening winds will turn to a northwesterly direction and cooler air will begin to filter into the region.  Lows on Saturday night will be somewhat chilly.

High pressure builds in behind the front.  Sunshine will be abundant but temperatures on Sunday will be noticeably cooler than in recent days.  Sunday night will see temps dip into the 30’s for most locations.  Brrr.

Monday through Wednesday will see more sunshine with high temperatures increasing a couple of degrees each day.
