Unseasonably Warm Temperatures Today and Tomorrow 10-4-12

A cloudy, gray start to the day will give way to sunshine by the afternoon as high pressure asserts itself.  Unseasonably warm temperatures are in store for today and tomorrow and many locations will see highs in the low 70’s.  Enjoy this while you can because big changes are in store…

A strong cold front will move through the region Saturday morning.  However, noticeable effects and the bulk of precipitation with this system will actually be behind the front.  Clouds increase during the day on Saturday with scattered showers beginning in the afternoon.  Heavier rain arrives Saturday night and lasts into Sunday.  Much colder air also arrives on Sunday which will make for a crummy way to end the week.  Most locations will see lows on Sunday night dip into the 30’s.  Sub-freezing temps aren’t out of the question for some of the higher elevations.

High pressure and sunshine returns on Monday but dramatically cooler temperatures remain.  The high temperature on Monday will be a good 20 degrees colder than Friday.  Lows will once again dip into the 30’s Monday night, so the valleys can expect frost when they wake up on Tuesday morning.

Tuesday and Wednesday will see continued sunshine with temperatures moderating each day.
