Warm and Humid with Afternoon Storms

Minus yesterday afternoon, we saw some pretty nice weather this weekend.  Hopefully you were able to get out and enjoy it, because the rest of the week will see unsettled weather each day.

A stalled front lies just to the north and west of the region right now.  Southerly wind flow ahead of it is ushering in very warm and humid air into the region.  As a result, instability will increase throughout the day and we’ll see another round of afternoon showers and thunderstorms today.

This synoptic setup will be the general theme for the week.  The current front will dissipate by Wednesday, but another one is right behind it.  Each day will be warm and muggy, with afternoon storms popping up across the region.  By the end of the weekend, high pressure will move back into the area and we should dry out.  Until then though, it’s going to be a hot, humid week.
