Warmer Weather is Almost Here NC 5-13-13

What a chilly start to the week!  Numerous locations dipped below freezing overnight and it looks like that's going to happen again tonight.  Between now and then, cool high pressure will make for  a sunny, but cool day.  Temps will be running a good 15 degrees below normal.

After another chilly start tomorrow, the sunshine continues and temps will be bumped up 10 degrees from today.  This is the beginning of what looks to be the end of a unseasonably cool start to spring.  FINALLY.

High pressure continues to slide off to the east on Wednesday and wind flow turns to a southwesterly direction.  Warmer air will invade the region and we're looking at highs in the 70's on Wednesday with plenty of sunshine.  YES!

Thursday through the end of the weekend sees a west-east oriented frontal boundary stall to north across northern West Virginia and Virginia.  Each day will see warm temps, partly cloudy skies, and the chance of scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms.  All in all, that's pretty much how summer weather goes and I think most everyone will take it.
