CURRENT TEMP AND FORECAST BETWEEN BOONE AND BANNER ELK

ski areas within the High Country of Western North Carolina, Virginia, Western
Virginia, East Tennessee and Western Maryland. Hence the name "HighCountryWeather"!
This front page will change after January 5th to add a "one stop location" to
access all of the current temperatures and weather forecasts for all of the
mountains of the Southeast and Mid Atlantic area!
For now, this first page offers the current temps and 5 day forecast from our
offices in Foscoe, between Boone and Banner Elk, NC. Be sure to click on
all of the station links though to see the information for other areas!

11 Am Est Wednesday...
Warning Message:The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow and sleet...which is in effect from 11 PM
this evening to 11 am EST Wednesday.
* Snow will begin early Tuesday morning. Sleet will mix in with
the snow Tuesday afternoon.
* 2 to 5 inches of snow and sleet are expected.
* Strong gusty winds on Tuesday night will also produce blowing
snow and wind chills around zero...especially at higher elevations.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow...sleet...or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while
driving.
