A Reminder That It’s Not Spring Just Yet

Well, what a weekend it was.  We started out with rain, rain, and more rain on Saturday with many places seeing a couple of inches of the wet stuff.  By the late morning hours on Sunday, colder air arrived earlier than expected and rain changed over to snow.  Most places saw at least a dusting with the higher elevations around Boone receiving a few inches of snow.  Beech and Sugar are both reporting 4 inches.  The new snow and clearing skies sure did make for a beautiful morning in the High Country.  Most of the white stuff will melt in the next 24 hours though, as we’ll see temperatures warm up into the 40’s today for most of the area and sunshine a plenty.  The wind will be fairly gusty early today but will taper off by the afternoon.  Tomorrow will be a few degrees milder as high pressure continues to ridge it’s way down from the north.  Another cold front will cross the region on Thursday, bringing more heavy rain to the area.  Check your location for a more detailed forecast.
