Cataloochee Ski Area is set to join in on the fun.
The Maggie Valley resort will open for the 2020-21 season on Friday morning.
They will join Sugar Mountain as open ski resorts in the southeast.
Day sessions start at 9a, and it is expected they will be open for day sessions only in the immediate future, but there has not been an official word on that.
No other details have been announced as far as what slopes will be open to play on.
Cataloochee’s mountain operations team has been hard at it this week making snow as much as possible.
