More Snow on the Way

Today’s featured image is from App Ski Mountain. It is great to such excitement.

Let’s ride.

After a short mild-up to start the week, snow and cold return to the area later tonight setting us up for fantastic conditions for the end of the week and weekend.

Before we get to the snow tonight, we will have some underdeveloped snow before the moisture turns to snow late this evening.

Right now, the North Carolina resorts are poised to be the big winners with 5-8″ of fresh snow forecasted around Beech and Sugar Mountain and 1-3″ with locally higher amounts possible at the other resorts.

How sweet is that?

Resorts outside of North Carolina will also see snow overnight, but the amounts will be on the lighter side – around an inch or so seems to be the trend.

However, it wouldn’t surprise me to see the snow overperform at some locations.

Conditions Thursday through the weekend will be fantastic AND we are looking at more snow on Sunday and Monday to along with snowmaking.

Sweet.

As I mentioned, we have to get through some rain later today, but it should still be a blast on the slopes with plenty of snow to play on.

Canaan Valley and Timberline did receive just under a half-inch of snow overnight to help refresh the winter atmosphere.

For the latest conditions, be sure to check out the Snow Reports page.

To wrap up for today, here are a couple of great posts off of social media.
