ResortCams.com & The Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation Team Up To Offer Improved Views

Most readers will be at least somewhat familiar with the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation. You’ve probably seen the license plates and you may even be a supporter.

The Foundation exists to support Blue Ridge Parkway programs and projects related to cultural and historic preservation, education and outreach, natural resource protection, and enhanced visitor amenities. The Foundation’s support of Parkway programs must meet two criteria: to have a lasting value and to enhance the quality of the visitor experience.

The Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation is nonprofit organization, based in Winston-Salem, NC that raises private funding for the Blue Ridge Parkway, one of the most visited units of the National Park system – with over 14 million visitors annually. The Foundation works with the National Park Service, individuals, and organizations to address critical needs along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

In recent months, ResortCams.com has worked with the BRPF to install, implement and host a new, LIVE webcam at The Bluffs on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Laurel Springs, North Carolina. You can visit that popular spot in the parkway by clicking here> The Bluffs on Blue Ridge Parkway Webcam

Kevin Brandt is a Project Manager, based in Asheville, NC. He spent four decades with the National Park Service, during which he managed the restoration of historic structures in Yellowstone, Hot Springs, and Bryce Canyon national parks, as well as in a number of other parks and recreation areas.

As project manager, Brandt serves as a liaison between the Foundation and Blue Ridge Parkway leadership to shepherd projects to completion, including the rehab efforts at the manor house at Moses H. Cone Memorial Park and The Bluffs Restaurant at Doughton Park.

It was the “Bluffs Project” that introduced ResortCams to Kevin and since the implementation of that new camera at The Bluffs Restaurant, Brandt has become a fan.

“We’ve had many webcams installed on the Parkway and the quality of the camera systems just don’t measure up to what we have now at The Bluffs. We’re getting so many compliments, that we want to introduce more cameras through ResortCams.”

Among those being discussed are:

– A new webcam at the Moses H. Cone Memorial Park in Blowing Rock

– Waterrock Knob with elevations and views from 6,293′

– The Blue Ridge Music Center and Amphitheatre near Galax, Va

“We think we have the opportunity to educate more people on just how special the Blue Ridge Parkway is and we think you guys (ResortCams.com) can help with that”, Brandt added.

The Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation has so many initiatives in place, such as the “Trails & Views Forever Fund” which is a newer program to repair and renew trails, overlooks, campgrounds and more. Visit www.BRPFoundation.org to see more about this awesome organization and see how you too can support their many programs and initiatives.

We are proud to be working with Kevin Brandt, as well as Carolyn Ward, CEO of the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation, and their team.

The Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation also has an electronic newsletter that is free to all subscribers and is available online, http://www.brpfoundation.org.
