Snow For Some to Kick Off The Week

Today’s featured image is from Canaan Valley Resort.

There is nothing wrong with some snow to jumpstart the week.

Mother Nature is dropping snow on part of the area this morning with some locations looking to see around 4-5″ by the time this afternoon rolls around.

A pretty sweet start to the week.

West Virginia is poised the be the big winner today. Canaan, Snowshoe, and Timberline are all reporting an inch of fresh powder so far as big flakes continue to fall.

The Cheat Mountain magic looks to produce an additional 3-5″ by the time it winds down, while the Davis resorts could pick up an additional 1-3″.

Winterplace may be just outside the accumulation as they are reporting mixed precipitation this morning.

Wisp Resort is also receiving a steady burst of snow this morning – they have received around 3″ in the past 24 hours – but accumulation is on the lighter side so far.

It has been great to see some snow falling at the Virginia resorts this morning, but no real significant accumulation is expected.

Unfortunately, it looks like the southern resorts will be left out again. We could see a mixed turn into mostly snow that leads to a quick accumulation, but it will not be anything major.

Needless to say, the conditions are going to be fantastic today and throughout the week.

For the latest conditions, be sure to hop over to the Snow Reports page for the latest.

There is plenty of snow, several resorts at 100%, and good times to be had.

Trip Reports
It was great to see a couple of trip reports and photos in my inbox this morning – I love reading and seeing how your adventures are going.

The first is from our buddy Bill who works as a ski patroller up at Bryce.

He wrote:

“The four plus inches of “Sierra Concrete” on Thursday has settled down into a very nice groomed surface that was fun to ski.. With the white capped border of West Virginia in the background and winter temperatures in the air; “A splendid time was guaranteed for all.” Bryce is 100% open and the crowds came out to partake. Masks were covering smiles that one could still discern and the mood was joyous. Thanks to all whose cooperation makes this experience possible.”

Bill also sent over these great shots.

It was also great to hear from our friend Brian Duy who had a Sunday Funday at Massanutten. Brian wrote:

Brandon and I left Fredericksburg VA at 715 this morning and arrived at beautiful Massanutten resort just in time for first chair. It was a cold but gorgeous blue bird day on the slopes. We spent a good amount of the day over by lift 6 and the blacks and never waited to get on the lift. The slopes were in great condition. Think Snow!

The photos proved it was an incredible day on the slopes.

Be sure to send us your trip reports and photos.

That does it for today, but until tomorrow, #ThinkSnow!
