Strong Thunderstorms Tonight

What a windy start to the day.  I woke up this morning to the sound of a chair on my deck being knocked up against the sliding glass door.  It’s a sign of things to come as some severe weather is headed our way.

There are a few isolated showers out there this morning but nothing of real significance.  Clouds will remain throughout the day, and expect isolated showers and thunderstorms pop up as well.  These afternoon storms are just a prelude to what is coming tonight as a cold front is going to cross the region.  This cold front is going to produce some very severe weather today to our west.  Tornadoes are even expected for central Tennessee today.  For our area, expect strong thunderstorms overnight with gusty winds and hail as being a distinct possibility.

We’ll see showers and storms continue into the first part of tomorrow.  By lunchtime though, we should begin to see a clearing of the skies and a return of sunshine.  Temperatures will be much cooler and it will be noticeably less humid.  Friday will continue to remain cooler with sunny skies.

High pressure controls our weather this weekend.  It will be quite pleasant both days, with highs in the low 70’s and blue skies.  Another system will arrive on Monday.
