Snowshoe Mountain Looks Awesome for Holiday Skiers and Snowboarders!

There seems to be snow falling in all directions this morning. We have 8″ of new snowfall on the ground, but gusty winds are causing lots of blowing snow. That means there should be powder stashes across our 52 open slopes today. Both Lower Shay’s and Widowmaker were left ungroomed this morning, so you expert powder hounds should head there first. But with several additional inches of snowfall expected throughout the day, there should be fantastic powder conditions everywhere! If you’re making it out for some epic first tracks this morning, be sure to bundle up and wear a windproof outer layer. Don’t forget our great retail outlets have everything you need to properly gear up for mountain conditions; hats, gloves, facemasks, toe warmers and much more! Snowshoe truly is a winter wonderland right now, and we have so many ways to let you explore. After a day on the slopes, join us on a guided snowmobile tour under the stars, or, learn more about Snowshoe’s history during one of our snowcat tours. Today, Wednesday and Jan 1, Snowshoe’s expert snowmaking and grooming managers will host an exclusive FREE seminar giving guests a behind the scenes looks at our most important mountain operations. Join us at the Depot at 5pm for this 45min look at how we make all this snow and keep it looking so good! The roads up the mountain are in great shape this morning thanks to our local crews. However you will encounter blowing snow if you’re traveling to or from the resort today.
