Much Cooler Air on the Way

What a nice couple days it has been!  I am loving this weather.  I was playing tennis yesterday up in Seven Devils, and although it was fairly cloudy, it felt amazing.  It looks like it might be a little too cold this weekend for tennis though, as we’re going to see our first shot of some really cold air.

An upper level disturbance is is moving across the region right now.  That would explain the clouds this morning.  The skies should clear though over the next couple of hours, and then we’ll see another beautiful day weather wise.  Lots of sunshine and temperatures in the upper 60’s to around 70.

Our first shot of Canadian air arrives this weekend.  A cold front will move through tomorrow.  Behind the front is MUCH colder air.  Temperatures on Saturday will not get out of the 40’s in Boone.  There’s not a lot of moisture associated with this front, so precipitation will be isolated.  However, higher elevations have a pretty good shot at seeing some snow flurries Saturday morning.  What a way to start October!
